1982 - Establishment of the hellenic marine environment protection association (HELMEPA)
On 4 June 1982, the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) was established following an initiative of shipowner George P. Livanos with the aim to raise awareness about the protection of the marine environment.
