1933 - Panaghis Tsaldaris premiership

In 1933 Panaghis Tsaldaris was sworn Prime Minister and immediately responded to the Union of Greek Shipowners resolution regarding the inability to manage ships under the Greek flag. In April 1933, a so-called “hunger payroll” was implemented enabling Greek-flagged ships to continue being competitive.
