1923 - Great Kantō earthquake

The devastating earthquake near Tokyo on 1 September 1923 and the subsequent increase in demand for the transportation of cargoes, had a positive effect on the freight market. This led many Greeks to gradually begin investing once again in second-hand tonnage.
