1936 - Establishment of under ministry of merchant marine and of the hellenic chamber of shipping

Ioannis Metaxas formed an under ministry of Merchant Marine appointing distinguished lawyer Deucalion Rediadis to head it. A few months later, the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping was established with George E. Embiricos becoming its first president.
